cellochan approaches cello playing in a holistic way. Observation, which in cello playing includes: how does it feel, how does it sound, & a calm detachment, is a powerful way to integrate different facets of our playing. Relaxation, beginning meditation, and self acceptance are all part of achieving this calm. And, detachment does not mean alienation from emotion. It is about clearing the way & aligning yourself in a way that allows the power of the music to flow freely through you.
We here at cellochan invite you to explore our new cello retreat camp for the summer of 2011.
Designed for cellists aged 12-17 overnight and welcoming adult students during the day.
